Iris Mathews - AIRISU - Loire Writers Retreat • Mar 05, 2019

At our Le Tremblay Retreat we offer a host of relaxing and rejuvenating holistic treatments.

There are numerous benefits to experiencing Holistic Therapy, from the physical to the psychological. The focus of Holistic Healing is to encourage the person to gain balance in all aspects of life.

Here at Le Trembley we offer you a unique and different approach to Health and Well-Being by using a wide variety of treatments, therapies and techniques depending on your individual requirements.

All our Retreats come with one or more inclusive bespoke therapy sessions depending on the type of Retreat your book.

SOME OF THE GENERAL BENEFFITS

1. Physical

Holistic Therapy improves the physical aspects of your health and wellbeing. Whether you’re suffering from stress related muscular tension, tight knots, joint stiffness, pain, recovering from an operation or an illness, this non-invasive treatment has a positive effect on your body.

Regular sessions of Holistic Therapy can also have a positive effect on your blood circulation, for example, if you experience cold hands and feet a gentle holistic massage can help promote new blood flow.

2. Psychological

Different Holistic Therapy treatments target certain areas at varying levels of intensity.

Non-invasive therapies help renew your psychological balance by alleviating mental fatigue, increasing clarity and improving concentration.

3. Emotional

Overall your mental health can also benefit from professional Holistic Therapy treatments. If you’re suffering from anxiety, stress or lack of confidence, treatments can bring back that connection with your ‘self’.

YOU MAY ASK, HOW CAN ANY OF THESE HELP ME AS A WRITER?

Writing guests who have stayed at Loire Writers Retreat, have come to get away from daily routines and distractions. They wish simply to concentrate on their writing but for some writers it can take a day or two for them to settle into their flow.

Taking advantage of the inclusive bespoke Holistic Treatment on the first or second day of a stay at Loire Writers Retreat can give you a natural concentration boost which will keep your mind sharp and improve your mental agility.

The treatment can also help remove any blocks you may have enabling you to keep your creativity flowing.

For some of our guests SELF-DOUBT has sabotaged and interfered with their writing. While self-doubt on occasions can be helpful in encouraging you to push for perfection, in many cases it can also cause Anxiety, Procrastination or lack of motivation all of which can lead to feelings of the dreaded ‘Writers Block’

Not to worry!

Here at Loire Writers Retreat through our holistic therapies we have various techniques to share with you in overcoming self-doubt and re-energising you.

So, along with excellent nutrition, a safe, supportive and positive environment you will leave Loire Writers Retreat with a feeling of having achieved your Retreat writing goals.

Here at Loire Writers Retreat we believe the simple things in life are always the best. After posting some pictures of my Irish Potato Bread Farls some of our followers have requested the recipe saying they have fond memories of their parents and grandparents making potato bread farls. After years of cooking and following our Mum's recipes, which were passed to her from our Grandmother; I discovered the secret ingredient that was never written down in any recipe but went into all their cooking - it was prepared and 'cooked with Love', passion; care and intention. Soul food which hugged and comforted you making their food always tasting delicious. In the words of Sophia Loren: "The most indispensable ingredient of all home cooking: love for those you are cooking for. This recipe for Irish Potato Farls only requires your leftover potatoes (spuds), a little flour and butter, a griddle or frying pan. It takes about 20 minutes of preparation time and 10 minutes to cook. INGREDIENTS: 450g cooked potatoes 55g butter 110g self-raising flour 1/2 pinch salt Method: Heat a flat griddle, or heavy based frying pan Mash your potatoes, add flour, butter and salt until a stiff dough forms Turn your dough onto a lightly floured surface: Knead the dough lightly and roll out to about 1cm thick. Cut into triangular wedges Add flour to your griddle or pan and working in batches cook the farls turning once until golden brown 4 - 5 minutes each side. TIPS: You can also purpose boil your potatoes I use a fork for ,fixing the ingredients Make a large batch and freeze them Serve them with sauage, bacon and fried egg - this will soon gather a group around for their 'Ulster fry' breakfast, brunch. You can tweak this recipe to suit the tastes of your family. BON APPÉTIT
